Coach recommends a player be retired and hired as coach

Post by Weasel »

I am playing as the Coyotes (love a challenge) and all of my coaches recommended that Eric Boulton be retired but offered a job as a coach. The only way I can figure to do this is to waive and release the player and then offer a contract as coach, is there any other way?

When a player reaches a certain age and is without contract or his contract is about to expire you'll see the option to sign him as a player or coach/scout. I don't know at which age though and whether this also depends on the players health or not.

Another option is to wait for him to retire and then offer him a contract.
