Hey
I have a list of problems....
I try to change backgrounds, but when I change the default to something else, I get the startup screen displayed during the game...instead of my new designated default screen...how can I rectify this?
I was reading the instructions for the ehm 2004 about changing backgrounds and other things in the pics.cfg file, but I can't find the pics.cfg file in ehm 2005. I would like to have changing backgrounds but can't figure it out...any suggestions?
I'm half way thru doing all the player pics for the uhl...where can I find the 'hockey card template' to put over them when I'm done?
I've got the uhl logos...how do I put them on the icerink for the arena pics? Where do I get the icerink template?
Any help would be greatly apreciated...i'm very new to graphics and tampering with games...so I'm sure that there are easy answers, (ie. obvious ones)...but I can't figure it out...
Thanks in advance...
looking for a little help...

I'm afraid you can't have multiple backgrounds in EHM 2005. It's a real shame because I did several background packs in EHM 2004 for the NHL, UK and Europe which are of no use for EHM 2005.
To change the default background, replace the default.png file in the 'background' directory of the skin you use, e.g. NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2005\data\skins\ehm_default\background. The same can also be done with the startup image too.

Heh. That Archi isn't just a pretty face; he's got it covered for you
There is a slight display bug with the backrounds, in that after loading a new skin the backround doesn't change right away. It may take a few clicks to take effect.
Another oddity is that the game graphics are a few pixels short. You will only notice that once you change the backround; there will be a line of what looks like stray pixels underneath the sidebar. If you look at my Ice skin's default background you will see I compensated by drawing in those pixels.
Both backgrounds unfortunately have to be in .png format as they are a part of the skinning system this year. If you try to use a .jpg or .gif you will get that 'startup screen as background' look.
If you have any questions about the templates let me know. For text to look best on a new backround you may have to adjust the settings in the .col file; I have a full guide up about how that works.
