Why are my games ending in ties?

Post by jesusrocks150 »

In EHM '04, there is an area to select shooters for a shootout. However, games that don't decide a winner in the OT period end in ties instead of actually going to the shootout. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Maybe it was a bug that a patch was sent out for?

Did the NHL use a shootout back then or did we still have ties? I think the ability to set shooters for a shootout is there for international competition.

As far as I recall there was no shootout in the first retail version of EHM. The NHL itself only just introduced it starting with 2005-06 season.

That's what bugs me about that version: the fact that the NHL has changed so much since those times, and the introduction of the salary cap (and, to less extent, shootouts) means it is kind of difficult to adjust to playing without it. Otherwise it still is one heck of a game.
