Maybe this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it on here. Anyways, I'm wondering how you can get guys to throw the body around more often. Look at these two players. Greg Moore was a depth signing just to play my 4th line, but ended up being a spectacular player for me. He put up those stats playing 4th line and PK for the majority of the year, until I put him on the 3rd line towards the end of the year. 334 hits in 82 games. If he played more minutes he would've led the NHL far and away. As it was, he was 4th in hits in the whole league. His stats don't make him look like a hitting machine. Average checking/hitting attributes, and average aggression. But look at his playoff stats. 18 hits in one game, and 11 in another, and 77 hits in 13 games. He got this while playing with personal tactics of Defensive, Hard backchecking, and High puck pressure.
On the other hand, I have Wayne Simmonds. High checking/hitting attributes, with average aggression. But no matter how I set his personal tactics, he just will not hit. 34 hits on the whole season!!!! Why won't he hit? I've played him on the PK, 2nd line, 3rd line, 4th line, and he just won't hit anything. Is there some sort of hidden attribute that has to do with the players tendency to hit?
