Finances Problem

Post by Gretzlaf »

Hello, I'm having a little bit of an issue using the brand new Lidas rosters.

I've just begun a new game, and I'm trying to sign free agents. However, when I attempt to sign a player, the Board won't allow me to sign the player for anywhere near what they're asking (i.e., I'm trying to bring back Dubinksy, but the Board will only allow $984,000). This is odd, because I'm nowhere near the cap ceiling or the maximum budget (see below). I lowered the cap floor to see if that was the issue, but the same problem persisted.

Here's my financial rundown:

For the life of me, I can't figure out what could be wrong. I've never had this issue before. Anyone know what I can do to fix it?

Thank you.

I had the same problem with Winnipeg. Only let me sign Ladd for a max of 2 million per season.

Have you tried changing the player's status on the team? For example, if he's considered a "regular player", the board might limit you on how much you can offer him. If he's considered a "key player" they'd likely allow you much more.

I just started a new game with the newest rosters... All Dubinsky wanted was 1.968 million for 2 years, or 984k if you broke it down per year. That's exactly what he wanted, so what's the problem? :dunno:

As far as Ladd goes, he wants 3.34 million for 2 years, or 1.67 million per year...

The rosters that Manimal just made available are a kind of temporary rosters so that some people could get started playing with the newest draft already completed. (and the move to Winnipeg) That's why so many free agents and restricted free agents are not signed by their teams.

If you know how to use the pre-game editor you can put everyone you want under contract, if not, my suggestion is to just play with the 3.1 rosters. ;)

Or you allready offered other contracts which are curently considered by players. It also can cause that board limits your offers. Either this or what Bruins72 said.

I wonder if the fact that they are still considered to be rookies in game has anything to do with this.
I intend to change all NHL-players 'Player info' so we'll have the correct rookies
