EHM Quick Tips

Post by Minstrel »

This has been kicking about it my head for a while so figured I post this little quick tip before I forget again:

In the filter screens where for stats for example you have the + and - buttons with the numbers in the middle; if you click on the numbers instead of the plus or minus button the numbers jump by 5's: 5, 10, 15, 20.

And while I doubt there's people who aren't aware of this but I may as well mention it; you can advance your game in time by pressing the space bar instead of clicking continue. If you have news that needs reading clicking the space bar will switch to the next unread news item.

Any other tips like this anyone wants to add? :-k

:-k
When you click on the attribute you want to filter,it's start with a value of 10...so,by clicking on the attribute and then on the number, you can filter it up to 15 with 2 cliks instead of 3 if you only click on the numbers... Yeah,i know,i'm a little bit lazy sometimes... :-D

For sure!!! :-D

In the game view, you can see the tactics screen of your own/opponent team by cliking in the area where there's their name and logo at top of the page, instead of cliking the appropriate button. It allows more space for throw your mouse in quickly before cliking when you want to change your tactics just after a goal.

Certainly not the most important tip,i agree...lol

Not the biggest tip no, but it's the same kind of thing that until you know it's there it kinda doesn't exist... so in order for people to not have been clicking numbers by ones for months etc I figured post em and save someone the ](*,) of not knowing 8-)

I have to admit that I forgot about that one; I stubled on it testing out logos or a skin I think... but before then I'd been using the pull-down for like a year

Just discovered a little tip... It won't be a revolution for the game although

In your players profile,at "history/playing carreer",you can click on the year of the season (i.e. 2005-06) and all the stats of this season (regular season,playoffs,pre-season games and international games) will be in the stats screen at the bottom of your screen, where you usually have the stats of the actual season (under the attributes)

It only works for the EHM played seasons, not the real-life ones that are mentionned in the historic of the players.

It allows to see how well a player performed all over a specific season, without having to change the views regularly by checking is regular season, then his playoffs, and so on...

Not an emphatic tip,for sure, but some guys will maybe like this possibility :-k

What's the meaning of the word "poise" that we see in the scouting reports? I know this is not very similar to the subject of the thread but I didn't want to create another one just to ask this. :-)

I saw some meanings in the dictionary ( I'm not a native speaker), but I don't know which of them is more appropriate in this case.

Thanks guys.

To take a definition from dictionary.com:

Poise
2. a dignified, self-confident manner or bearing; composure;

It's basically how well a player can handle pressure, like in a big game. I guess you can look at it like "confidence". A player with low poise will be the guy getting nervous and shaky in high-pressure situations.

And the hidden attribute "Pressure" is most likely the attribute this word is describing in the scouting report.

Maybe not the best thread to put this on but does anyone know how the pre-season player rankings go? This is the second time when one of my prospects have been ranked #1 of the league and their skills haven't been even close to the other players... Is it reputation which affects the ranking or what? :-?

I'm guessing it's a combination of reputation and maybe PA but probably mostly reputation. I've never really paid much attention to those because I always found them to be "off".
