NHL Team Most In Need Of A Rebuild, And How?

Post by AaronRStanley »

Hey all,

So, I always like to rebuild a team to a degree, and this time I'm wanting to do rebuild and stick with it. I figured the best NHL team to do that with would be Calgary, with their aging core, high salary cap number. The next thing is how to do rebuild. Do the Brian Burke style, quick-turnaround rebuild? Or do a proper rebuild, and attempt to build through the draft, NCAA signings?

I figured that I'd be smart to ask the fine folks here what your thoughts are, on team, and how to go about it?

Thanks

That depends on the database you use. I haven't used the database for this year much, but I can tell you the flames in 3.0 were a formidable team. As for how to do a rebuild, I generally prefer to build through the draft with small free agent signings along the way. I generally stay away from NCAA signings as I don't think they produce as good of talent as the Juniors. Usually I will see if I can pull kids out of the NCAA and put them in the juniors.
