First time since 1949 the Habs as been shutout for 3 straight games. Yesterday's game was a pain to watch, they played so bad! They don't create good scoring opportunities, they shoot far from the net which make easy saves for the goalie and they dump the puck ALOT. I can't believe I'm saying this again but Price saved them for having 5-6 goals scored.

And now they are in great danger of falling to 8th. The Rangers are tied with them points wise and Buffalo is only 2 points back with a game in hand.

Buffalo is playing like a desperate team, the Habs not. MTL will finish 8 if they don't wake up soon and they're gonna face Philly, which would not be good.
Anyway, Philly, Boston or Wash I don't have the feeling the Habs can get far in the playoffs this season and I'm not saying this because Halak isn't there.

Yes the Habs were a good example last year but I don't feel it this year at all. I can be wrong though! But the way the team as played, especially the attack ( Gomez, Gionta and Camm ) don't have a good season at all, last year at least Camm and Gionta got nice season despite some injuries.

The Habs love to complicated their path to the playoffs don't they? Buffalo wins an important game tonight!

While not mathmatical yet, that pretty much kills Toronto's chance. It does mathmatically eliminate the Devils though, Just three that are out that have a 'mathmatical' chance in the east right now, CAR, TOR and ATLphilou21 wrote:The Habs love to complicated their path to the playoffs don't they? Yes "mathmatical". Because they really need to win all of their games and the others to lose all of them.
Pretty entertaining for you for sure!! I think they lose just to not facing the B's in the first round and take Wash instead.

Yeah they figured they'd rather get humiliated by the Caps than the Bruins.
now watch the Habs beat the Bruins in 7

Now our only hope is the Sabres lose out, the Leafs win out (before the shootout) and the Canes can get no more then 3 points in the last 3 games. The Leafs have the tiebreaker on both the Sabres and the Canes if they all end up at 90 points. Of course it could all be over tonight if the Leafs don't win or if the Sabres get even a point. Yes I am stil holding hope on that slim slim thread.

And they've lost Ryan Callahan for the season with an ankle injury after blocking a Chara slapshot late in the game.philou21 wrote:Well I'm sorry for you Loosie....Rags have made an awesome comeback!

*sniff*
Hey with the way the Leafs were playing earlier this season, the fact that it took until game 80 to be officially eliminated from the playoffs is a testament to how they turned things around since the All-Star break. And also a testament to Reimer's play.
I know that all the analysts will break down the season and say if they did this here or did this there they might have made it. For me the big 'missed opportunity' was when they sent down Reimer after his first call up when Giguere and Gustafsson were both healthy again, in those 6 games the Leafs went 1-3-2. Now I'm not saying the Reimer would have won all of those games, but given how he WAS playing that easily and extra 4 or 5 points.
I know that the knock on the Leafs since the lockout has been 'wait for next year', but I am excited for next year. Not only do they seem to have 'found their groove' they have some nice prospects in the AHL Colborne specifically and two first round picks. I still think they need to add a legit no. 1 centre (Brad Richards?) in the off season.

I wasn't expecting the Leafs to go this "high" in the east, they got better chances for next year for sure, finally for you, the fans.
MTL/CHI game is awesome so far, 43-33 the shots and it's 1-1. Price and Crawford are on fire and putting a fantastic show!
Edit: Subban just scored in OT on a penalty of Kane.

Why did the Leafs have to go and turn their season around? I was hoping the B's were going to have a super high pick like last year. Oh well! At least it will still be a lottery pick, maybe they'll move up?

Just two of the assistants, not all of them, the article doesn't say it anymore, but I know that Rick Wamsley and Luke Richardson were kept on staff.

DeBoer got a first nice season when he took the Panthers but since then they just keep falling but I don't think he was to blame in this.
