The IceDogs begin their American Tour, travelling to play the Everett Silvertips. Kenton Howse will get the start in goal for Niagara. Kenton Howse stopped 19 of the 20 shots he faced, and though the score was tied 1-1 after one period, the IceDogs scored three unanswered goals to take the victory!

September 4th

IceDogs training camp opened today with physical fitness testing. Showing exceptional fitness were defensemen Drake Milne, and Broderick Kelly, while goaltender Arnold Beauchemin, and tryout defenseman Bruce Dorion showed up in the worst shape!



Team Red defeat Team Blue 5-0! Best performance was put in by defenseman Cory Genovese, with honours also going to center Francois Semenov, and defenseman Drake Milne.

Team Green defeat Team White 3-0! Best performance was put in by center Pierre-Marc Duchesne, with honours also going to defenseman Adam Pelech, and winger Julien McNeely.



The IceDogs remain at home to open their preseason, playing host to the Kitchener Rangers. Kenton Howse will get the start in goal for Niagara. Kenton Howse stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced, and the Rangers scored late in the third period to force overtime, where Kitchener winger Mitchell Dempsey would emerge as the hero!

Czech Republic defeat Finland 4-3! First star honours would go to Finnish center Alexander Barkov, who recorded two assists. Second star would go to Czech defenseman Viktor Toma, who recorded an assist. Third star would go to Czech defenseman Petra Kriz, who scored two goals.



Sweden vs. Russia

The Hockey News released their OHL Season Preview today, and the Niagara IceDogs (Team MVP: LW Radko Tvrznik, Key New Face: D Cory Genovese) were ranked 16th out of the 20 OHL Teams!

Favorites to win the J.Ross Robertson Cup this season are the Windsor Spitfires, though the Guelph Storm should give them a run for their money! The Oshawa Generals, and Owen Sound Attack should be solid contenders, while the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, and London Knights are expected to struggle.



September 10th

Team White and Team Blue skated to a 4-4 draw! The best players on the ice were winger Roch Van Onlangs, and center Mathew Campagna.

Team Red defeat Team Green 2-0! Best performance was put in by center Francois Semenov, with honours also going to tryout defenseman Bruce Dorion, and defenseman Cory Genovese.



The IceDogs travel to play the Sudbury Wolves. Kenton Howse will get the start in goal for Niagara. Kenton Howse stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced, and though the Wolves scored first, Niagara would scored six unanswered goals to take the victory!

The Groups for the 2009/10 World Junior Hockey Championship were drawn today, and Czech Republic drew into Group A with Russia, Finland, Slovakia, France.



The IceDogs travel to play the Sudbury Wolves. Jesse McCullough stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced, and though the Wolves scored first, Niagara scored twice in the final ten minutes of the game to take the victory!

The IceDogs return home to play host to the Barrie Colts. Jesse McCullough stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced in the game, and though Barrie led 2-1 going into the third, the IceDogs exploded for five third period goals to take the victory!

The IceDogs travel to play the Saginaw Spirit. Backup goaltender Kenton Howse will get the start in goal for Niagara. Kenton Howse stopped 15 of the 18 shots he faced, and though the Spirit took a 3-0 lead into the third, it was in the third where Niagara once again exploded for five goals, taking the victory!

The IceDogs announce that defenseman Broderick Kelly has signed a contract to play his overage season with the IceDogs next year. Kelly has played in 43 games for the IceDogs this season, putting up 12 (1+11) points, and is +3, with 40 penalty minutes. He is also the teams captain.



January 12th

The IceDogs return home to play host to the Sudbury Wolves. Jesse McCullough stopped 26 of the 29 shots he faced, and though the Wolves scored late in the third to force overtime, the IceDogs would go on to victory in the shootout!

Former IceDogs goaltender Chris Festarini of the CHL's Arizona Sundogs was named MVP of the South All-Stars in the CHL All-Star game, stopping 26 of 27 shots in the South's 4-1 victory over the North All-Stars!

The IceDogs remain at home to play host to the Owen Sound Attack. Jesse McCullough stopped 27 of the 32 shots he faced, and the IceDogs were shut out by Owen Sound netminder Heikki Karjalainen!
