August 11th

The IceDogs begin their American Tour, travelling to play the Everett Silvertips. Kenton Howse will get the start in goal for Niagara. Kenton Howse stopped 19 of the 20 shots he faced, and though the score was tied 1-1 after one period, the IceDogs scored three unanswered goals to take the victory!

The IceDogs continue their American Tour, travelling to play the Seattle Thunderbirds. Jesse McCullough will get the start in goal for Niagara. Jesse McCullough stopped all 30 shots he faced to record the shutout, and the IceDogs scored twice to secure the victory!

The IceDogs finish their American Tour, travelling to play the Portland Winter Hawks. Kenton Howse will get the start in goal for Niagara. Kenton Howse stopped 18 of the 20 shots he faced, and the IceDogs got out to an early 4-0 lead, and Portland never caught up!

The IceDogs return home to play host to the opening game of the Niagara Cup tournament against the Gatineau Olympiques. Jesse McCullough will get the start in goal for Niagara. Kenton Howse stopped 27 of the 33 shots he faced, and though the IceDogs led 3-2 midway through the game, the Cougars would scored four unanswered goals to take the victory!

September 4th

IceDogs training camp opened today with physical fitness testing. Showing exceptional fitness were defensemen Drake Milne, and Broderick Kelly, while goaltender Arnold Beauchemin, and tryout defenseman Bruce Dorion showed up in the worst shape!



Team Red defeat Team Blue 5-0! Best performance was put in by defenseman Cory Genovese, with honours also going to center Francois Semenov, and defenseman Drake Milne.

Team Green defeat Team White 3-0! Best performance was put in by center Pierre-Marc Duchesne, with honours also going to defenseman Adam Pelech, and winger Julien McNeely.



The IceDogs remain at home to open their preseason, playing host to the Kitchener Rangers. Kenton Howse will get the start in goal for Niagara. Kenton Howse stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced, and the Rangers scored late in the third period to force overtime, where Kitchener winger Mitchell Dempsey would emerge as the hero!

The Czech Four Nations Under-20 Tournament begins play today!



Czech Republic vs. Sweden

Sweden defeat Czech Republic 5-1! First star honours would go to Swedish center Viktor Crus-Rydberg, who scored two goals. Second star would go to Swedish winger Jorgen Stromqvist, who scored a goal, and an assist. Third star would go to Swedish defenseman Oskar Nobling, who recorded an assist.



Russia vs. Finland

Russia defeat Finland 4-2! First star honours would go to Russian center Eduard Fomitchev, who recorded two assists. Second star would go to Finnish defenseman Juho Siren, who recorded two assists. Third star would go to Russian winger Kim Misharin, who scored two goals.



September 6th

Team Green and Team Red battle to a 3-3 draw! Best performance was put in by winger Julien McNeely, with honours also going to center Francois Semenov, and tryout defenseman Denny Hope.

Team White defeat Team Blue 4-0! Best performance was put in by tryout center Neil Staal, with honours also going to winger Dean Koverko, and tryout defenseman Dusty Johnston.



Finland vs. Czech Republic

Czech Republic defeat Finland 4-3! First star honours would go to Finnish center Alexander Barkov, who recorded two assists. Second star would go to Czech defenseman Viktor Toma, who recorded an assist. Third star would go to Czech defenseman Petra Kriz, who scored two goals.



Sweden vs. Russia

Sweden defeat Russia 5-2! First star honours would go to Swedish winger Sebastian Sundstrom, who scored two goals, and an assist. Second star would go to Swedish center Viktor Crus-Rydberg, who recorded three assists. Third star would go to Swedish winger Jorgen Stromqvist, who scored a goal.



IceDogs defenseman Adam Pelech has left the team to attend training camp with the Colorado Avalanche!

September 9th

The Hockey News released their OHL Season Preview today, and the Niagara IceDogs (Team MVP: LW Radko Tvrznik, Key New Face: D Cory Genovese) were ranked 16th out of the 20 OHL Teams!

Favorites to win the J.Ross Robertson Cup this season are the Windsor Spitfires, though the Guelph Storm should give them a run for their money! The Oshawa Generals, and Owen Sound Attack should be solid contenders, while the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, and London Knights are expected to struggle.



September 10th

Team White and Team Blue skated to a 4-4 draw! The best players on the ice were winger Roch Van Onlangs, and center Mathew Campagna.

Team Red defeat Team Green 2-0! Best performance was put in by center Francois Semenov, with honours also going to tryout defenseman Bruce Dorion, and defenseman Cory Genovese.



The IceDogs travel to play the Sudbury Wolves. Kenton Howse will get the start in goal for Niagara. Kenton Howse stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced, and though the Wolves scored first, Niagara would scored six unanswered goals to take the victory!

The IceDogs announce the signing of defenseman Walker Drouin. Drouin was the IceDogs 3rd Round Pick (44th Overall) in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection.

The IceDogs announce the signing of defenseman Denny Hope. Hope was the IceDogs 13th Round Pick (256th Overall) in the 2008 OHL Priority Selection.

The IceDogs announce the signing of center Neil Staal. Staal was the IceDogs 6th Round Pick (119th Overall) in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection.

The IceDogs announce the signing of defenseman Bruce Dorion. Dorion was the IceDogs 12th Round Pick (236th Overall) in the 2008 OHL Priority Selection.

All other tryout players have returned to their teams for the season.



September 12th

The IceDogs return home to play host to the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors. Jesse McCullough will get the start in goal for Niagara. Jesse McCullough stopped 25 of the 28 shots he faced, and though the Majors led 3-2 going into the third period, the IceDogs scored three times to take the victory!

The IceDogs remain at home to open their season, playing host to the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors. Jesse McCullough stopped 36 of the 40 shots he faced, and the Majors took an early 3-0 lead, and though Niagara chipped away in the third, they couldn't quite catch up!

October 1st

The Groups for the 2009/10 World Junior Hockey Championship were drawn today, and Czech Republic drew into Group A with Russia, Finland, Slovakia, France.



The IceDogs travel to play the Sudbury Wolves. Jesse McCullough stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced, and though the Wolves scored first, Niagara scored twice in the final ten minutes of the game to take the victory!

December 16th

The IceDogs travel to play the Kingston Frontenacs. Backup goaltender Kenton Howse will get the start in goal for Niagara. Kenton Howse stopped 20 of the 22 shots he faced, and though Kingston scored early in the third to tie the score 2-2, just a couple minutes later, Niagara scored to take the victory!

The IceDogs announce that defenseman Broderick Kelly has signed a contract to play his overage season with the IceDogs next year. Kelly has played in 43 games for the IceDogs this season, putting up 12 (1+11) points, and is +3, with 40 penalty minutes. He is also the teams captain.



January 12th

The IceDogs return home to play host to the Sudbury Wolves. Jesse McCullough stopped 26 of the 29 shots he faced, and though the Wolves scored late in the third to force overtime, the IceDogs would go on to victory in the shootout!

The IceDogs return home to play host to the Barrie Colts. Jesse McCullough stopped 35 of the 40 shots he faced, and though Barrie scored late in the third period to force overtime, the IceDogs would go on to victory in the shootout!
