The Habs are playing extremely well...for now. I don't watch the games but I like what I'm seeing on RDS. Been a long time a mentality like this was needed. To see Prust rush for a fight after Gorges got hit from behind on the board was great. He seems like a decent player. And the Caps, oh gosh. That team sucks so much it's unbelievable. I'm sure Ovy as something to do in this.

Re: Official 2013 NHL Regular Season Thread
Yeah... two teams playing at the opposite of what is expected of them. Andrei Markov is having an excellent season start and his partner Diaz does equally well. The team still appears empty, but they're filling this emptiness with something. It's pleasing to see, even if I was a Nordique too. I'll be curious to see what happens with Subban now. His attitude in his contract negociation is thoroughly shameful and demonstrates how bad a team player he is. Greed and egocentrism....philou21 wrote:The Habs are playing extremely well...for now. And the Caps... I don't know what happens with them. Philly, LA and the Rangers also have horrible season starts despite being much better than this, so there may not really be reasons to worry just yet. The Caps have a new coach, perhaps it makes things harder? It's been a long time since I last saw Ovie smile on the ice, though. He's been put on a line with Beagle and Crabb tonight. Way to generate offense...

Markov is great. Good way to prove he's back from his severe injuries. Alot of us thought he was a goner now. MTL don't need that much to be a really good team. If they keep the same core and maybe with Galchenyuk, Gallagher and two-three good prospect they can become a solid team. For now, I think the new coach and administration changed the mood of the team alot and they have players that can bring more energy like Prust, Gallagher, Galchenyuk and even Armstrong.......maybe even not having Subban around who knows. That's maybe something Bergevin want to show to him. We can win without you.

Yep. Missing Markov last year for so long killed the Habs. Washington will start playing better. I mean how could they get worse?
Loving watching the Oilers play. Even in the Sharks game they are exciting. Watching the Canucks is like watching paint dry.
Flyers oh boy. No d and now no Meszaros and Hartnell. Big doo doo.

Yeah... actually, it's not really a secret that Markov has a hard time with Subban. I watched Le 5 à 7 on RDS today and they opened the show with an old interview of Markov where a lady asked him what he thought of Subban. Markov just rudely replied "next question". Other vets like Gill in the days had problems with him as well. Hopefully the team keeps winning and Subban learns an important lesson of humility. Or doesn't learn and is traded for a good player (for a change, the Habs have become so bad at it lately). I hear the Rangers are good at giving big long-term contracts... Speaking of kids, it'll be interesting to see if the Habs keep Galchenyuk on the roster after all.philou21 wrote:Markov is great. Good way to prove he's back from his severe injuries. Re: Official 2013 NHL Regular Season Thread
He's doing good! Only 1 goal in 3 game but there's not just stats to look at. He got clearly the speed of an NHL player. Isn't scared of going in corners. Will see that after the week-end probably if they keep him or not.

Yup just saw it on RDS. 2 goals already and now 8 goals in 4 games. Didn't paid attention to the Sharks until now, surprise for me haha Marleau looks like the one in EHM right now.

Lol. I don't care about Marleau in playoffs. Only in fantasy hockey. Singlehandedly allowing me a chance to win this week.

I bet you 100 $ you're not winning one of those 4+ accumulators this season.MWE wrote:2-way I hope it's an accumulator to be honest I havn't checked the rules regarding Ice Hockey accumulators on bet365

It's a money grab for bookies. Betting on the NHL is tough anyway. I don't bet as often as I used to since bet365 started to enforce the 5 % tax on every winning bet from Germany.

First time 1917-1918 season someone started the season with 4 multiple goal games.
Although, even the Sharks winning the President's Trophy is no guarantee of playoff success.

Re: Official 2013 NHL Regular Season Thread
What? The team that wins the Pres Trophy does not always win Stanley Cup?
Marleau on pace to score 96 goals and 36 assists. That will win the Stanley cup right? Lol. Sharks look good now.but it's still a long haul. Not as long as normal but just as difficult with these games crammed so close.
