lol Philly's goalie situation is hilarious. So they fail to trade for Bishop and get Mason from CBJ instead.

Frigging Gabby goes to Columbus for 3 and a pick...
Pominville goes to the Wild...
Bishop for Conacher and a 4th...
That Conacher deal is strange..

Yeah, that was weird. Well I guess Conacher isn't as good as we think (played with great players = more points). And Bishop has a lot of potential. That could explain the deal.rmt_1982 wrote:Bishop for Conacher and a 4th...

Re: Official 2013 NHL Regular Season Thread
Well there was not much moves until late pm. Still probably the best deadline in a couple of years. Here are my impressions.
Never thought Redden could go the the Bruins but for a 7th pick, great move to replace some injured guys.
Torres for a third round pick? Come on that's wayyyyyy too much.
There was alot of rumors about Gaborik but I wasn't sure if the Rags would dump him away. Never thought Columbus would be interested in him. I don't know who Moore is but the trade so far is good for both team. Brassard is like Tim Connolly and Dorsett will maybe replace what Prust was doing last year. Gaborik got the chance to save his pathetic season and will maybe perform better with less "star" players around.
Pominville trade. Steal by the Wild IMO. Wait....just saw there was a first round and second added to the trade, not so much finally. The pick will probably be a low one for Buffalo but it's still a first rounder. Hackett doesn't seem like a futur super star and Larsson is looking like a good third liner at best. The Wild got more depth with Jason, nice addition.
Mason vs Leighton. Well, Philly are trying to save their asses again. It shows they don't trust Bryz that much. Bobrovsky is doing a good job since he left maybe Mason will do the same now that he is out of CLB after failing miserably since his brilliant first season. Personnally I think he's a bust but we'll see....
Bishop vs Conacher. Probably the trade I like the most so far. Tampa needed badly to have help in the goal and they paid for it. I don't know if Conacher will be a futur star but it's a nice addition to Ottawa with their injuries. Gonna add more depth to their offence. Bishop will help alot TB if he keeps playing like he did with the Sens. Don't think he will be a super star goalie but he looks like someone who will be able to play 50 games per season while doing good and Lindback can have the rest and do a decent job. Both side won IMO.
Pens with Jokinen....fail. He was on waivers last week or two ago. Gave up picks for nothing. At least it's just a six and a seven. Gonna add more depth in their lines.

Carolina supposedly retains part of the salary, which wouldn't have happened if the Pens picked him up off waivers.philou21 wrote: Pens with Jokinen....fail. He was on waivers last week or two ago. Gave up picks for nothing. At least it's just a six and a seven. Gonna add more depth in their lines.
Although I'm not sure how much he has left.
Caps mystery trade, will be unveiled in a Leonsis web show

Watching Sportsnet, and they're guessing its Martin Erat from the Preds.

Man if you're/were a bottom six PIT forward, how mad are you right now? You helped the team win 4398789348 games in a row and your reward is you just lost your job.

That Forsberg deal is ridiculously loaded towards Nashville. Forsberg will be a fantastic player.

According to Erat, he requested a trade, and Washington was on a list of 10 teams that he wanted to move to.

Thought rmt was trolling because it was already 5 pm here but wow am I surprised about that trade. Caps are a bunch of idiots on this one. Great for Nashville and their futur though!

I've been watching Sportsnet's Hockey Centre for most of the day, and they were saying that they'd heard talk of 1 deal remaining to be done, and initially, they thought it was Ryan Miller to the Caps..philou21 wrote:Thought rmt was trolling because it was already 5 pm here but wow am I surprised about that trade. Well the pace picked up towards the end. I thought the initial rumours about that mystery trade were indeed about Miller until Regier confirmed Sabres are done.

Re: Official 2013 NHL Regular Season Thread
Some of these trades at the deadline are HORRIBLE!!!
Do the GM's feel like they just have to make a trade???
What the heck is Columbus thinking? They are rebuilding and they dump two decent players, a fairly good d-prospect, and a 6th for a broken down 4th line has-been?
Why didn't they just keep Nash???](./images/smilies/wallbash.gif)

Timmy, Gáborík is still a good player. Just not under Tortorella
He'll score again.
Nice start for the Rangers new players last night!

The entire reason he ditched the NTC was to get out of New York and whatever the reasoning behind it, you can understand why when Tortorella has treated him like he has.Manimal wrote:Timmy, Gáborík is still a good player. Just not under Tortorella

I guess I just thought he was on the downward slide because of his play there. You guys think it was just the situation he was in? Hmmm... I may have to rethink my post.rmt_1982 wrote:The entire reason he ditched the NTC was to get out of New York and whatever the reasoning behind it, you can understand why when Tortorella has treated him like he has.Manimal wrote:Timmy, Gáborík is still a good player. Re: Official 2013 NHL Regular Season Thread
Brassard isn't that good. He got some talent but not gonna be a super-star. He's always injured too. Moore wasn't in the plan of the team anymore. It's not because he was a first pick that he's gonna be an all-star too. Dorsett is supposed to be a decent player? Come on....timmy_t wrote: What the heck is Columbus thinking? Rangers win big on trade deadline week. Penguins win big on Trade Deadline week. Minnesota wins on trade deadline but to a much lower degree than the other two.
Even steven: Columbus, and Chicago...since they did jack all as usual.
BIG LOSERS: TORONTO and VANCOUVER...for the same darn non-trade, Washington, Philadelphia...What the Dickens? Mason...LOL.

Re: Official 2013 NHL Regular Season Thread
PIT can only be a winner if they win the Cup *AND* the guys they picked up play critical roles in doing so. Sorry, but that's where they left themselves making such moves in the middle of a huge winning streak.batdad wrote:Rangers win big on trade deadline week. Penguins win big on Trade Deadline week. Martin Erat wins because he got out of Nashville.
