I had the same issues. I found out that my router was assigning a different IP address every time I started up my computer. Either set a static IP that doesn't change, or make sure the ports are open for each IP address you get assigned by the router. This fixed my issues, hope it helps.

It's still a different connection so your firewall(s) might treat it differently, so try disabling them and such.

Hey guys, I was just wondering if there was any more definitive information on this problem that's come out over the previous few months. We're having the same problem as above, have tried the solutions listed above, and I still getting the message that parties cannot connect.

Thanks!

Hey there,

I have my network game going and just some points I found by trying to figure it out.

1. Open your router and go to the port forwarding tab/section
2. Create a new Service. Name it (Eastsidehockey, or whatever)
3. On Public and private ports, use 10095 for all spots
4. For IP Address, use the one that you see in IP config. Usually 198.162.0.10, or something close to that.
5. Save/Apply these settings. Make sure there are no errors.
6. Take note of your IP address from "Whatismyip" on a google search. This is the IP that you give to your friends who want to Join your network game.
7. Not sure if it mattered, but I did go to my windows firewall settings and turned off my incoming settings for Eastside Hockey Manager to off.
8. Started a new Network game and got to the screen where you add a GM. After you've fully go your GM up and running, you should be ready for your friends to join. You don't have to be in chat.
9. That should be it. Just make sure to let the other players know that if nobody pauses the game to do anything, the game will auto continue each day until someone stops it.

Hope that Helps.

Make sure you open port 10095 on every firewall, modem and router on whoever is hosting.

How to Play Online

Post by greaterone66 »

Hola, I played online AGES ago and it isnt seeming to work for me this go around. Which is really frustrating. I have port forwarded both 10065 and 10095 as I read for both of these on forums. (Yes, I looked it up before coming here).
I also added the same ports to my PC firewall. No luck. My friend tried joining under my IPv4 address and no luck.

Any help would be appreciated as I spent hours researching and trying with no luck.

Thanks in advance.

Try this as a starting point (which applies to both EHM 2007 and EHM 1): https://ehmtheblueline.com/wiki/index.php?title=Setting_up_online_gameplay_in_EHM_2007

Network/Online Mode: Crashes and connection problems

Post by jdubs »

I can't get anyone to join my online game and I'm starting to feel like I'm running out of options. I had it working about a week ago but now I can't seem to get it working.

- I have port forwarded ports 10095 and 10065 to the correct IP address (using CMD 'ipconfig /all' to get my IPv4 IP)
- I have disabled windows defender and don't have any other anti viruses running
- Have provided them with my PUBLIC IP address
- I even tried deleting and re-installing EHM

My laptop is fully up to date, running windows 10. I am running the game in Windowed Borderless mode because it won't run in windowed mode (even though I don't think that matters as it was the same last week and it worked). My internal IP hasn't changes, I've doubled checked everything at this point. I use a VPN on my main pc to try and connect to the host laptop which is why I know its not working. I've had others try to connect as well with no luck.

I'm out of ideas at this point. Not sure what else needs to be done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Fixed! Re-formatted my PC and that seemed to work!

Im trying to play with my friend, but when we get in to a match and one of us presses "Drop the puck", my (I am the host) entire IPv4 network connection crashes. To the point where I have to restart my PC to even have access to internet. Does anyone know the fix for this issue?
