Small sample size. What have teams played 20 games? Not too long ago, 10 games in Willie Mitchell led the Canucks in scoring. So I think all of his attributes should be upped to 15 and better.
I think that Andrew Raycroft since he has played 8 games and is 5th in the NHL in GAA should be the 5th best goalie in the league.
I think that Rick Rypien has destroyed Stortini, May and two others in fights so should be the best fighter 20 aggression, 20 strength in the league.
I think that Erhoff is clearly now the Canucks #1 dman and needs to have his skating improved to 20, his passing to 18 and his shot to 20.
I think that Alex Edler needs to have his passing reduced from 17to 3 and his potential should be that of a career 6th dman becuase he has been horrible so far.
Same for Roberto Luongo as Edler...drop all his stats.
And Milan Lucic and Mark Savard should have horrible injury ratings as should Ovenchicken, Malkin, Daniel Sedin...
Oh and Steve Anthony is clearly the best 7th round draft pick ever, because for the first time in his junior career he is putting up some numbers. __Sorry but really he is putting up #s becuase he has a decent lineup and his coach is playing a style that allows #s to be put up.
That said, junior players are being looked at for a future release for their stats and to have attributes tweaked. If you notice Manimal is working on this, and there will be upgrades to some of these players like Taylor Hall, Seguin etc. It will just take awhile.
and in all seriousness--no those changes do not need to be made to Canucks.
And BTW--The top Swedish Junior League is not exactly strong. Most kids in Sweden who do not come play in the WHL, QMJHL and OHL...make the Swedish men's teams and play there.
Which brings me to the Blackhawks pick 5th round of 2009 who is leading Djurgaardens IF (men's team not Junior) in scoring this season....hmmm maybe he is the next coming of Peter Forsberg? I think he is a better player than Almqvist. In fact, I am sure of it. I mean its obvious....

Batdad: I totally agree with you. Therefor I don't suggest changes only based on this season, but if someone was about to have his stats changed and this season just proves me right I add it to my judgement. It feels somewhat bad to have your favourite players racking up point up to this date this season and have them just mediocre in the game, but players often go on a streak both in IRL and in the game.

Some players have the value "0" set for attributes in the database. If they have a "0" in the database, they get a random number in the game. Sometimes the player can get a "5", and at other times he can get a "12".lapaz wrote:I don't understand what you mean... Can you explain more? But I checked attributes at Pre-game editor.Lidas wrote:I worked on the players, but since some of them have randomized values, I dont know what values you have seen on the players, and thus I cannot know what value to set. Maybe you could check the values in the editor instead.

Jordan Hensel-Peninsula Eagles- Plays defence not LW.
Brayden Schenn-Brandon Wheat Kings- Should be way better defensivly. He was compared to Mike Richards at the draft.
Jamie Benn- Dallas Stars- Dominated the WHL, World Juniors and Memorial Cup. Had more points than Taveras for most of the early season until recently. Will be future NHL allstar, should have all offensive attributes hightened.

McLean is no longer randomized, and I also worked on your other suggestions.Korppu wrote:Some are, some are not. I will probably take a closer look while researching them. Oh, and also Kim Nabb (Lukko Sm-League) needs slight buff, maybe around 70 CA, and add +1 to some workhorse attris. like checking, workrate, strength.
Samuli Kivimäki (Lukko) needs to be buffed to around 70 CA too and PA should also be higher (probably around 100 or -5 should do it) as he has some future potential in him. He has pretty bad technical attris atm so some need to be buffed. For example +3 Flair, +1 Passing, +3 Slapshot. +2 Stickhandling, +1 Wristshot, Deking +1.
Kurtis McLean (Lukko) is one of the top players in SM-League atm so he needs to be better. Unfortunately most of his attris are random so ill make something out of my head: Stickhandling 11, Passing 13, Slapshot 10, Wristshot 12, Movement 11, Pace 12, Acceleration 11, Vision 13, Pass Tend 12, Faceoffs 13, Hitting 8, Checking 12, Agility 11, Dirtyness 7. Current Ability 105, Potential 110.
Petri Vehanen (Lukko) buff CA to atleast 115 and PA to 122, raise one-on-ones, rebounds and glove by +1.
Eero Kilpeläinen (Ässät) also needs little buff. He is good goalie in bad team. CA 103, PA 114. Add +2 to Rebounds and Glove.
Suggestions were made looking at 2.0 Database.

Thanks, Homertksolway wrote:I took a look at the Oilers in the DB now that I have time, here's some observations
-Taylor Chorney should be faster.
-Comrie is playing LW/C this year
-Eberle should have better abilities all around, He would have stuck in the NHL this year in the Oil didn't already have too many forwards. in Regina this year, he has 2 points per game.
-Brule could also get a small boost in his offensive attributes, he has 10 points in 16 games (5G, 5A)
-I don't know if there is a stat for that, but Grebeshkov has a really bad habit of giving the puck to the opposite team (somone already asked to have his defensive abilities lowered I believe).
-Jacques should have a little better hitting, its pretty much what he does, higher injury proneness though, every time he gets called up he injures something.
-Steve Macintyre was claimed by the Panthers on Waivers
-Reddox's shooting and passing attributes should be lower, he is truely useless for anything but banging bodies.
-Nilsson's teamwork, work rate, consistancy, and positioning should be less.
-O'Sullivan is RW/LW/C this year, He shoots a lot as well (56 so far), I'm not sure how the pass shoot tendancy works in the editor, but he should be closer to the shoot end.
-Penner is an interesting problem. He's in the top 5 in scoring this year. But in the past has been somewhat streaky. If you think its right to increase some attributes now, or wait until later in the season and see if he keeps this up. Personnally I'm ready to say to Burke: "So 4.5 million, way to much for that player eh." Always said they would be overpaying for him for the first couple years. Hope he keeps up this pace, it would be great for the Oil to finally have that type of player again.
-Pisani's injury proneness should be up, they guy can't play a week without injuring himself.
-Stortini should have higher bravery, he led the league in fighting majors last year
Hope this helps, If you all don't agree with my ideas here, its ok, I realize I may have my Homer Glasses on.

-Nilsson should have a consistency rating of 5-7, he got the potential to be a 1st liner but can never come out of the the habit of three brutal periods for each great one.
-Penner should be stronger than in the database no-matter of what season you base the stats on. His effort and stats have been questioned earlier, but he always had top strength.
-Deslauriers hasn't been tested that much but he really is a hard worker, great teamplayer and consistent in all his apperences. He has always worked hard dispite his lack of play time for two seasons and been able to come ready for each game. Therefore he have justified a boost in all connected mental stats like prof. amb. etc. His stickhandling could be one point lower just like his passing, he sometimes really mess things up when handling the puck after a save. His pace should also be under 10.
-Khabibulin should have a mental profile to reflect his morphine-calm apperence. He's the calmest goaltender I ever seen.
-Ethan Moreau is way overrated in his technical attributes. He is hard working and ambitious but his lack of skill makes him a 3-4:th liner.
-Staios should be slower, his age has got to him and he's more of a pylon than a racingcar (7-9). He is undersized and suffers from being a bit low in the strength area nowaday(11-12). His age hasn't touched his work ethic so he should be one of the hardest working (teamwork 18-19) players in the league. He has to be one of the most frequent shootblockers leaguewide and throws himself on the ground, his head to the shoot, if it prevents his goal but sometimes he does this too much (bravery 18-19, decisions 7-8).
Well, that is all I got for the moment!

First, thanks everyone. This is great.
Lidas, i'm not sure if this has been said yet but i disagree with you on the
AHL. Rather than moving theworse place teams, i think you should have put the newest teams there. Only, because i'm a historian as well as a fan of hockey. Springfield,MA is the home of the AHL and one of the oldest teams in the league. It's a shame they aren't in the league. It would be like the Bruins not being in the NHL, the first American team. Thanks for your work again, love it.

Couple of changes
Michael Grabner for the canucks is very fast, that is essentially what makes him an NHL player
and possible future top six forward, without it, he is nothing more than a top six AHL-er...
anyone who has seen him play knows that he is far faster than a 15...
Mason Raymond presently lacks the technical gifts to be a top six forward, but he is a hard worker,
and should at least be playable on the 2nd PK line...
If anyone in the league has a 20 rating on poke checking I recommend that person being Willie Mitchell...
Rick Rypien is pound for pound the toughest player in the NHL, (maybe only because Tootoo weighs more),
need proof? Go to www.hockeyfights.com and check out his two fights against Brandon Prust, and after watching those fights, compare Rypiens stats to Prusts, it is absurd... Rypien never loses in a fair fight, and he takes on guys who are 6 inches taller and 40lbs heavier (not always successfully, but sometimes - vs Hal Gill, vs Commodore), as final proof of his toughness, I believe there is also a video of him taking on Carcillo, and winning... again.
i understand that we need to allow time to season our opinions about the skills of players before we either over-rate or under-rate them, but Grabner is fast, as long as he plays hockey, that will be his strength,
Willie Mitchell is a defensive defense-man, and one of the best at what he does (certainly not one of the best all around)
and rick rypien was a golden gloves boxer, he's a quick aggressive player who stands up to anyone...
other players----
Patrick Elias - a great player for sure, no doubt, but I mean!?!? He's almost as good as ovechkin!! He's not that good.
Matt Duschene - I hate the avalanche, but this dude is another quick young player, at least quicker than we've given him credit for...
that's all of I can think of right now...

extrapolating the point
Donald Brashear's speed and acceleration are both 15 really??
Brashear isn't really slow, but grabner is FAR FAR faster,
Ryan Johnson is also rated 15's in spd and acc, he could probably be 17's, he's
isn't as fast as raymond (or cogliano) but he's fast.
also compare Elias' ratings to Patrick Kane... like I said, Elias is good, but...
and lastly,
Cody Hodgson was *predicted* to be an NHL regular this year, and unfortunately...injury...
just compare Hodgson and Nashville's rookie center Colin Wilson,
again, I'm not saying Hodgson is better that Wilson, but, there certainly isn't such
a massive disparity between their technical abilities...

Sorry, but Ive done the same for all other leagues with the wrong number of teams too, and I want to be consequent. If they step up their game, they'll be in AHL in versions 3.X. If you want to play with them in AHL, its not that difficult to fix it yourself, and if you cant figure it out, send me a PM and I'll help you out.Chopps4312 wrote:First, thanks everyone. Some minor transfers.
Jokerit --> Sami Helenius --> Pelicans. (I'm not sure if it's a loan contract or did they sell him.. All the sources just say that he moves there for the rest of the season.)
Free Agent --> Alex Brooks --> Jokerit (One-year deal)
Free Agent --> Marc Lamothe --> Pelicans
Kärpät --> J.D. Forrest --> Kloten Flyers (SWI)
New Player --> Dmitri Shelomentsev --> Roki (http://eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=51346 Has good reach, big sized, mobile and does well infront of the goal.)
Hope I'm not late.
